Oracle, says that customers using SAP applications continue to select its Enterprise Performance Management System for financial and operational management. The company, which last month launched new applications to streamline the financial close process and accelerate statutory disclosures using XBRL says that approximately 89 percent of SAP customers in the Global Fortune 500 use Oracle EPM or Business Intelligence.

The Arts Council of Ireland has implemented Infor FMS SunSystems version 5 software for online grant payment administration and full accounting management. The solution, which was deployed by Infor partner Core Financials, enables the Arts Council to handle confirmations and payments online as well as produce full management accounts more timely and accurately.

Oracle announced this week a new release of its Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) System Release 11.1.2. The release introduces three new performance management applications – Oracle Hyperion Disclosure Management, Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management, and Oracle Hyperion Public Sector Planning and Budgeting – as well as major enhancements to existing Hyperion performance management applications, and enhanced integrations with Oracle Applications.

There is a curious anomaly in the market for mid-range ERP systems. The packaged business software sector is dominated by large domestic software authors, such as Sage in the UK, or Mamut across Europe and the global super-vendors such as Microsoft and SAP. Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people, is implementing a financial management system (FMS) from COA Solutions. This finance system, which will include electronic procurement and document imaging functionality, will support Crisis’ ambitious growth plans. IBM says that Nottingham Building Society, one of the largest regional building societies in the UK, has improved customer service and efficiencies through reduced paper waste with the help of IBM business analytics. IBM business analytics software is used by the Society to analyse financial, transactional, and operational statistics, as well as customer data on mortgage applications for the marketing team. The software generates reports on the primary mortgage application system, which processes an average of £500 million of applications per year.
