With multiple offices and departments across the UK and five divisions to manage, it was apparent that its existing spreadsheet-based system could not deliver the high standard of reporting required. With rapid growth and revenue of £2.2 billion, the Group needed to manage an ever growing and complex reporting process.
“Managing growth and ensuring consistent and reliable reporting was becoming difficult with the incumbent centralised system,” said Brian O’Connor, Group Information Systems Director for Morgan Sindall. “After a number of major acquisitions, data entry was becoming a time-consuming burden. With IBM business analytics software, we will be able to reduce administration significantly and increase visibility by drilling down into data.”
The Group will consolidate its reporting systems across the business and cut down time spent on number crunching. This should allow scenario planning and greater visibility of company and divisional performance.
“With IBM business analytics software, our financial reporting will be a one-stop-shop. We will be able to forecast better and prepare for different scenarios,” O’Connor said.
Morgan Sindall will implement IBM business analytics software to help consolidate the reporting process. The Group is also scheduled to implement more of the IBM business analytics solution later in the year to help set budgets and plan for the future.
