So, What Do We Do?

We are the UK’s leading finance systems recruitment company.

Unlike the vast majority of recruitment companies we are not built on a sales culture. We are wholly service and solutions focused. In fact in many instances our services are more akin to a hybrid mix of recruitment and consultancy.

This is because the vast majority of finance systems work is project related, such as upgrade and development initiatives. Indeed the replacement or implementation of new finance systems, ERP or BI tools will normally be driven by a business need for operational improvements and by definition change. Such change projects typically incorporate process standardisation/automation, shared services creation, or MI transformation such as data governance implementation and enterprise BI architecture.

SystemsAccountants has a long history of identifying, qualifying and providing very specialist resources with skills covering a wide range of financial applications and EPM tools, as well as deep subject matter expertise in project management methodology, operational transformation best practice and change management.

Having focused exclusively on these niche skill sets for the past 14 years we have developed an extensive knowledge bank of all of the software vendors and applications in the Finance, ERP and EPM arenas. We are able to provide clients with an expert appreciation of the skills available in the market to deliver specific projects or support particular applications and if resource is scarce, offer options with readily transferable skill sets.

Projects expertise:

The depth of our experience in providing resource to complex finance systems & change projects.
Since 1997 we have partnered with a huge range of clients, from FTSE100 corporates to mid-market companies and public sector bodies, specifically to support the delivery of finance systems and transformation programmes.

This has bestowed us with a profound understanding of the full lifecycle of projects and programmes, from business case to post delivery optimisation. Our projects solution predicates our ongoing engagement throughout the initiative enabling us to ratchet up and down contractor resources as they are required throughout the peaks and troughs of the project.

We understand the distinct skills required of the contractors and permanent staff we provide to projects. In particular we vet candidates on the basis of their communication and presentation skills, robust methodology and proven multi-project/programme experience (often ex-Big 4 or blue chip consultancy). Project Managers, for example, must bring a blend of discipline and pragmatism, as well as an ability to manage expectations and deliver clear fact-based messages as they will be required to manage downwards into delivery teams, outwards in to diverse stakeholder communities, and upwards in to the sponsor and steering committee. Business Analysts must not only bring expert analytical skills, but must also have tried and trusted experience of running workshops and fully engaging business representatives to really get to the root business needs.

In short we offer an alternative to full scale engagement with a consulting firm, systems integrator or software house, and are often invited by clients to propose resource solutions that they can compare and contrast against the services offered by their software or consulting partners.

Applications Support, Development & Administration:

During the last 10 years we have completed over 6000 recruitment assignments to source permanent candidates for our clients’ finance systems support & development teams. From Systems Administrators, to Systems Accountants and Finance Systems Directors we have been able to pin point the most appropriate candidates to administer and manage our clients’ finance & reporting systems architecture.

Our account teams maintain a deep knowledge of the Finance Systems, ERP and EPM applications marketplace, specifically, Unit 4: Agresso / CODA / CODA Dream; Cognos / TM1; Microsoft Dynamics; Oracle: eBusiness / PeopleSoft / JD Edwards / Hyperion; SAP / SAP EPM; and SunSystems. Our roots are deeply engrained within the finance community however and as such we combine thorough technical knowledge with a sound financial and commercial awareness, of the issues facing today’s finance organisation.
