For 80 years Canon has been delivering leading edge imaging technologies to customers across the world. Established in 1937, Canon has grown into a global company operating in a diverse range of markets, including Business Solutions, Consumer Imaging, Broadcast & Communications, Medical Systems and Industrial Products.

The Challenge

The purpose of the Sales & Business Planning project is to transform the CIG (Consumer Imaging Group) processes and systems to provide better visibility and control of the business whilst enabling Canon to fulfil its strategy through a new culture of trust and empowerment.

The project deployed Oracle Demantra for commercial budgeting across EU18. The project is now focusing on finalising the design, build and test of the Demantra system using sprint and agile methodologies as well as driving business transformation activities for investment management.

Due to the scale of business transformation required, the project team needed additional resources to support validation (mainly in the design/build/test stream) and business transformation (including change management, adoption, training, user support mainly in the business transformation stream).

The Solution

The SystemsAccountants ERP & Transformation team rapidly assembled and deployed a team of highly experienced consultants who had very rare skill set combinations to successfully deliver the change, testing, adoption and training requirements for the project.

The Outcome

Canon managed to go live with Demantra rebates and promotions on time and within budget across 18 countries. The system is now being used by more than 400 users, helping them manage more than €300M of channel investments.
