Introduction to the Position
Our client, a growing company in Mannheim, is seeking an experienced German-speaking Head of Accounting to lead their accounting team and play a crucial role in the implementation of NetSuite. In this leadership position, you will manage the day-to-day accounting operations while overseeing the successful integration of NetSuite into the company’s finance and accounting processes. You will provide strategic direction for the team, ensure the smooth transition to the new ERP system, and drive efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished finance leader who is looking for a hands-on role in a dynamic environment. Please note, relocation to Mannheim is required for this position.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high team performance
• Oversee the implementation and integration of NetSuite, ensuring alignment with accounting workflows and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize NetSuite configuration and customize the system to meet accounting requirements
• Provide guidance and training to the accounting team throughout the implementation process
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with local accounting standards
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline accounting operations
• Monitor and support the team in handling financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Act as the key point of contact for the finance team during the NetSuite transition, addressing challenges and providing solutions

Desired Qualifications

• Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken)
• Proven experience in accounting leadership, managing teams and overseeing accounting operations
• Strong experience with ERP implementations, particularly NetSuite, is highly desirable
• Ability to manage change and support the accounting team through the transition to a new system
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and local regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A background in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
• Previous experience in process optimization and system integration is a plus
