Sustainability Business Systems Specialist

What is the role and company?

Join the company HQ in Ireland, sitting within the Finance Systems team which reports into Group Finance. The team is expanding with an ever increasing demand for data in Finance and Accounting teams.

While the team manages core financial reporting around group consolidation, budgeting, planning, and reporting, there is a push to further expand into Corporate Sustainability reporting and ensure a positive impact on the world.

Within this team you will be engaged on both projects and business-as-usual activities. There is a continuous improvement mindset embedded in the team, so even the support activities include change and enhancement. As part of this team, you will oversee the ESG data sets, supporting the improvement of reporting on this topic.

The role will suit someone with a natural curiosity across disparate data sets and who enjoys connecting different departments for insight. Someone with a strong Data Analyst background and experience in creating, maintaining and improving reports and dashboards within a corporate environment will have a great skill set for the role.

What will I be doing?

• Manage the development, maintenance and administration of the sustainability reporting system within the group
• Partner with the Corporate Sustainability team on change and enhancement requests including development, testing and release of changes
• Manage security and user access for the system
• Design, develop, test and maintain reports
• Work with the financial controls team to develop and implement SOX controls around the sustainability reporting
• Support end users and resolve issues as they arise during the reporting process
• Work with teams and third parties to identify ways of automating the capture and reporting of data
• Provide training to end-users on new functionality, reports and dashboards
• Document new processes and procedures related to the Sustainability solutions

What profile will I need?

• University degree in any of the following computer science, business information systems or sustainability
• 3+ years’ work experience as a Data Analyst or in a related field and experience in managing large data sets and relational databases
• Interest in digital tools e.g. finance systems, data visualization tools, databases, or BI products
• Ideally experienced in creating reports and dashboards with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar
• Skills with programming languages and SQL is an advantage
• Team player with ability to contribute both individually and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative; comfortable working in a demanding fast paced environment
• Must speak fluent English
