Systems Accountant (Sharperlight Systems Owner)

£45,000 per annum

London (hybrid)

SystemsAccountants are currently working on behalf of an exciting and world-famous client to find a Systems Accountant to lead the development of the finance department’s reporting tool, Sharperlight. The successful candidate will provide training across the business on finance reporting systems, find solutions to reporting issues, and develop new systems solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

• Become a ‘super user’ of the organisation’s financial reporting tools and purchasing systems, providing support to other users as required, and to ensure key stakeholders have access to quality self-service reporting through the reporting system, Sharperlight.
• Utilise Sharperlight and SQL to scope and design data solutions to enable better storage of data and reporting improvements
• Develop new reporting, particularly around non-financial data, and lead any implementation as a result.
• Take responsibility of the roll-out of management accounting reporting using web-based Sharperlight reports by training finance team members, create solutions as required to reporting requirements and assist with the design and creation of reports where necessary.
• Maintain and develop financial reporting systems, ensuring they are accurate, secure and compliant.
• Ensure Sharperlight is constantly updated and any updates are well tested before deploying to the live environment.
• Provide expert advice on systems issues, policies, and procedures to senior finance staff.
• Gain a strong working knowledge of the design and workings of other financial systems, such as Proactis and Sun.
• Take responsibility for the business rules and integrity of the chart of accounts in the finance and purchasing systems.
• Troubleshoot and provide support on integration issues between finance systems.
• Work with other finance colleagues to ensure that system changes will not impede reporting

Role Requirements

• The post holder must have previous experience working with Sharperlight. Particularly working in the web rather than excel add-in.
• Some experience working in SQL is beneficial.
• Experience working with Sun and/or Proactis is beneficial. – Experience working in a finance department is beneficial.
• Project management skills would be desireable
• Highly computer literate, ideally with advanced MS Excel, SQL, reporting and data visualisation skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting stakeholder priorities.
• Strong Interpersonal skills both face to face and over digital media. Able to clearly present financial information in a simple and understandable form to nonfinance stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively within and between teams to achieve common objectives.
• Inquisitive and determined to solve problems and provide appropriate action and solutions
