What is Dynamics 365?
Dynamics 365 is a customisable system of applications and add-ons licensed through Microsoft. Microsoft Dynamics 365 is used by a wide range of organisations in different industries to create bespoke ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) functions.
Dynamics 365 ERP solutions:
Dynamics 365 ERP solutions are designed to enable a business to increase automation, efficiency, control and scalability over accounting, manufacturing, and distribution needs, but can be adapted to accommodate further business functions depending on industry. There are two popular ERP solutions to choose from:
Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) :
Dynamics 365 Business Central is an ERP solution that is tailor-made to accommodate smaller or medium-sized organisations by focussing on scale up functionality for growth.
Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations- (F&0) :
Suitable for larger businesses, with multiple lines of business operations or that have particularly complex process manufacturing needs. Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is marketed as two separate applications: Dynamics 365 Finance which has budgeting, project management, financials, and accounting capabilities suited for large, international companies, and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, which has engineering, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution functions and analytics.
Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is still considered a single application offering but customers can choose to enable one or both applications and allow employees user-specific access to one or both.
What kind of skills do you need to work with Dynamics 365?
Aside from a deep knowledge of Dynamics 365, a career with the ERP and CRM software often requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or a related field. A good mixture of technical and soft functional skills are also required.
Technical skills for Dynamics 365:
