SunSystems Systems Accountant

SystemsAccountants are currently working with an organisation in the charity sector seeking a qualified Systems Accountant with strong expertise in Infor SunSystems and financial systems optimisation.
Following the organisation’s recent upgrade to SunCloud earlier this year, they are now seeking a qualified SunSystems Consultant and expert to ensure the organisation are effectively using their SunSystems application and maximise its potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in a strategic initiative to enhance financial management, reporting, and operational efficiency through system improvements and automation.
This is part of a wider organisational strategic project to invest in reviewing current financial processes and systems, to ensure improved financial budgeting, monitoring and accurate reporting. This role will involve working closely with internal teams and third-party providers to support system optimisation and help shape the organisation’s financial systems roadmap
Role Responsibilities
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvements in finance operations – particularly in supplier management with SunSystems, document management, and finance bank payment systems.
- Provide expert SunSystems technical support, troubleshooting system issues.
- Manage third-party provider relationships and onboarding.
- Strengthen finance system controls and security, ie journal approval, system administration, bank details controls.
- Enhance financial reporting and streamline month-end processes:
- Improving journal templates, management account templates, strategic fund accounting, bank reconcilations process, appeal reporting, and cashflow & reserves management.
- Develop Power BI dashboards and support system integrations to other third party systems.
- Define a road map for financial systems for 3-5 years of the strategy
Role Requirements
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in Infor SunSystems, including Cloud versions of SunSystems
- Familiarity with financial reporting and template design in SunSystems
- Previous experience with Power BI
- Familiarity with Transfer Desk and Banking Reconciliation process improvement.
- Strong analytical & critical thinking skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical and financial issues.
- Effective in identifying and implementing process improvements and automation solutions like lean finance.
- Strong problem-solving acumen, with demonstrable leadership, trust and credibility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with different stakeholders and audiences
