We are working with a leading organisation seeking a Group Finance Systems Manager to play a pivotal role in driving improvements and ensuring stability across their financial technology landscape. This role is central to ensuring finance operations are supported by robust, efficient, and continuously evolving systems.
The finance systems team manages a suite of key applications, including general ledger, forecasting, and project-level financial tools. Their mission is to deliver an exceptional user experience, optimise processes, and maximise the return on investment from finance technology. By strengthening system reliability and adaptability, the team empowers finance functions to meet both current and future business challenges.
As Group Finance Systems Manager, you will lead the delivery of system change projects, with a particular focus on the COINS platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing system enhancements, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and providing expert technical guidance. Although the role has no direct reports, you will work closely with an analyst resource to deliver improvements, alongside senior stakeholders across finance and IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of finance system projects, particularly within COINS, ensuring outcomes meet business and finance objectives.
- Provide expert input on system design, configuration, and best practice approaches.
- Oversee technical documentation, process design, and implementation of system enhancements.
- Assess risks associated with new functionality, upgrades, and issue resolution, clearly communicating impacts to stakeholders.
- Partner with software providers to ensure prompt resolution of issues and maintain system integrity.
- Ensure system stability and effective technical support, meeting testing standards and user needs.
Candidate Profile
- Finance & Accounting Knowledge – Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience, with strong understanding of accounting principles.
- COINS Expertise – At least 3 years’ hands-on experience delivering improvements within the COINS application.
- Technical & Risk Management Skills – Solid understanding of IT concepts, risk assessment, and governance in finance systems.
- Project Delivery – Proven track record of delivering change initiatives in structured project environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Strong communicator able to translate technical detail into business impact for senior audiences.
