What is the role and company?
Our client, a well-established international business, is seeking a Finance Systems Lead – IFS ERP to join their team. This is a key in-house role focused on enhancing and supporting the IFS ERP system (currently on version 10) across finance operations. The company holds cloud licences and is preparing for a future upgrade, making this position critical in shaping the roadmap and ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a hybrid background in finance and IT—perhaps an ex-consultant looking to move into a final client environment. The role is based in Switzerland and requires on-site presence 4 days per week.
What will I be doing?
- System Ownership: Act as the subject matter expert for IFS financial modules, owning the system from a functional and configuration perspective.
- Support & Configuration: Handle level 2 and 3 support requests, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to current finance systems and processes to optimise performance and prepare for the cloud upgrade.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, IT, and external partners to align system capabilities with business needs.
- Cloud Readiness: Play a pivotal role in preparing the business for the transition to IFS Cloud, ensuring a scalable and future-proof solution.
- Documentation & Training: Maintain system documentation and provide training and guidance to finance users as needed.
What profile will I require?
- Experience: Strong experience working with IFS ERP, particularly in the financial modules (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, etc.).
- Background: A hybrid profile with a background in finance, accounting, or controlling, combined with hands-on ERP system experience.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to configure IFS and manage complex support requests (level 2/3).
- Project Exposure: Experience with ERP upgrades or cloud transitions is a strong advantage.
- Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Eligibility: Must be a Swiss citizen, Swiss permit holder, or EU citizen eligible to work in Switzerland.
- Location: Must be able to work on-site in Switzerland 4 days per week.
