We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant with a deep understanding of the NetSuite platform to enhance our financial accuracy and contribute to our success.
Job Summary: The Manufacturing Cost Accountant will play a key role in overseeing and analyzing our production costs, ensuring the accuracy of standard costing, and supporting strategic financial decisions. This position will utilize NetSuite’s manufacturing, procurement, and GL modules extensively and requires occasional travel to our facilities in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage detailed cost tracking systems in NetSuite’s manufacturing module to ensure financial accuracy and visibility.
- Develop, maintain, and review cost sheets and standard costs for all manufactured products, making adjustments as necessary to reflect production changes.
- Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and Router setup, ensuring alignment with production specifications and cost efficiencies.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies between expected and actual production costs, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Oversee costing for inventory and assembly items, including landed costs, to accurately capture and allocate external charges.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize purchasing strategies and enhance cost controls.
- Regularly review and update item setups in NetSuite to ensure correct categorization and pricing.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and forecasts to management, highlighting trends and variances in production costs.
- Work closely with production and engineering departments to ensure cost-effective project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Extensive experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in NetSuite’s manufacturing, procurement, and GL modules.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and data management skills.
- Proficiency in standard costing, BOM management, and variance analysis.
- Fluent in Spanish; able to communicate effectively with teams in Mexico.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Mexico.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
