The Workday Finance Systems Lead and Product Owner will serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the organization’s Workday Financial ecosystem. The position involves a mix of solution design, hands-on system configuration, integration oversight, stakeholder engagement, and governance. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical knowledge, financial acumen, and cross-functional communication skills.
What You’ll Do
System Management & Optimization
- Architect and implement scalable Workday Financial solutions to support organizational growth and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and optimize current configurations, integrations, and reports to ensure maximum system performance.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with internal teams and external partners.
Project Delivery
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional Workday initiatives, including deployments, upgrades, and continuous improvements.
- Define project scope, build execution plans, and drive delivery within set timelines and resource constraints.
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams, functional leaders, and external vendors.
Business Partnership
- Work closely with finance, IT, and other departments to identify and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into system functionality and ensure alignment with process objectives.
- Support end-users with documentation, training, and ongoing system support.
Data, Reporting & Integration
- Design custom reports, dashboards, and analytical tools using Workday’s reporting suite.
- Manage data flows between Workday and other business systems.
- Evaluate system updates and recommend feature adoption strategies.
Governance & Security
- Ensure that all financial systems comply with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
- Maintain robust role-based access controls and monitor data security practices.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of direct experience supporting or leading Workday Financials in a complex organization.
- Proven success in delivering technical and functional enhancements to enterprise systems.
- Strong knowledge of finance operations and core accounting processes.
- Experience working with Workday tools such as Adaptive Planning, OfficeConnect, and Report Writer.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Financial Management Certification.
- Additional relevant certifications in enterprise systems or financial technologies are advantageous.
