Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Enterprise SAP Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of a complex SAP landscape within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary organization. This role combines both technical and functional expertise to drive enterprise-wide architectural decisions that support strategic business goals.
The ideal candidate will be a techno-functional leader capable of bridging technical platforms with business operations, and experienced in overseeing the SAP S/4HANA environment along with related tools and modules. Strong collaboration across teams and a value-driven mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall architecture of the SAP environment, ensuring it meets business and operational needs.
- Lead the design and oversight of technical components such as SAP BTP, ABAP, CPI, and Fiori/UI5.
- Guide functional architecture across modules including SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, and align system design with business processes.
- Maintain architectural standards and governance models that ensure system integrity and scalability.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology and business strategy.
- Mentor internal teams and provide leadership in complex technical discussions and decisions.
- Support ongoing SAP system improvements, upgrades, and change management initiatives.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least 8 years in a techno-functional SAP architecture or leadership role.
- Minimum of 3 years leading technical or cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, CPI, and SAP BTP development tools.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and related system architecture.
- Proven success managing large, integrated SAP environments in line with industry best practices.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS/HEC), and HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).
- Ability to operate in a high-velocity, multi-priority environment with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, consultative approach.
- High integrity and demonstrated ability to manage confidential data responsibly.
Preferred
- Functional understanding of core SAP modules: SD, MM, FI, CO, PP.
- Background in delivering business value using BTP and process-led architecture.
- Experience with end-to-end SAP implementations and lifecycle management.
- Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to change management.
Additional Information
- This is a hybrid position, requiring a regular on-site presence in Chicago.
