Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze standard costs for manufactured and purchased products.
- Monitor and report on variances between actual and standard costs; investigate and explain key drivers.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to provide cost analysis and financial insights.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost allocation methodologies.
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of cost of goods sold (COGS) and gross margin.
- Support month-end close processes related to cost accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Lead cost roll-up and annual standard cost setting processes.
- Prepare audit support related to inventory and cost accounting; ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes to enhance data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred)
- Public company experience, particularly in a SOX-compliant environment
- Consumer products or manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with manufacturing operations or plant-level financial support.
- Deep understanding of standard cost systems, inventory accounting, and cost of sales analysis.
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial reporting and data analysis tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
