Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Systems Manager to lead the administration and optimization of Workday Financials and related tools. This strategic role is part of the broader corporate finance function and will be instrumental in aligning financial systems with business needs, particularly within the accounting and reporting domains.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for system configuration, process enhancements, and reporting improvements across financial modules. This role also requires cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders in areas such as Payroll and Human Resources to ensure seamless integration and communication across the Workday platform.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the internal Workday Financials expert across modules such as General Ledger, Procurement, Budgeting, and Reporting.
- Lead system configuration efforts, manage business process updates, and oversee the testing and deployment of new features or updates.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal users and external system consultants.
- Support Workday tenant administration activities including environment refreshes, renewal cycles, issue tracking, and documentation management.
- Guide team members and stakeholders through system configuration and testing processes.
- Build and maintain custom Workday reports, and implement lifecycle management strategies to retire outdated reports.
- Identify and implement system enhancements and workaround solutions to improve functionality and user experience.
- Provide user support and training for finance-related system functions; resolve issues and support reporting needs.
- Ensure systems meet security standards and comply with applicable financial regulations.
- Coordinate with teams across IT, Finance, and Operations to ensure systems are fully integrated and operating efficiently.
- Support the financial close process by ensuring system readiness and accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and internal controls associated with financial systems.
- Monitor system performance and reliability; execute regular maintenance and implement technical upgrades as needed.
- Participate in or lead special initiatives, system rollouts, or integration projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in key Workday modules: Financial Accounting, Payables/Receivables, and Budgeting/Planning.
- Proven experience in both implementation and post-production support of Workday Financials.
- Demonstrated ability to identify creative, effective workarounds for system limitations.
- High level of strategic thinking with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communicator capable of working with both technical teams and non-technical users.
- Comfortable operating in a high-change, fast-paced business environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials.
- Prior experience with Workday implementations is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting concepts is helpful, especially for reporting and data modeling.
- Experience in a healthcare or service-based organization is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
