Job Description – Sr. Business Analyst / Project Manager

Description:

The Senior Business Analyst and Program Manager is a hybrid position that will be responsible for both driving business analysis and overseeing the successful implementation of projects. This position is part of the Human Capital Information Systems (HCIS) area and the successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements, recommend both opportunities for improvement and alternative solutions that enhance the business, and ensure successful project delivery that’s on time and within budget. This is a key role to align strategic business initiatives to technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:

  • Leads and collaborates with stakeholders, business partners, impacted groups, and the development team in determining and analyzing business requirements, and recommending subsequent solutions and alternatives. This collaboration will include understanding business processes, current or potential systems capabilities, security configurations, and data quality.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating business requirements into actionable deliverables.
  • Proactively looks for business opportunities for efficiency, error reduction, or functionality enhancement, and implements innovative ways to understand the needs of customers, increase customer satisfaction, and determine what potential technical solutions may enhance their operations.

Project Management:

  • Provides project leadership across multiple projects especially pertaining to iteration scope, schedule, budget, and resources. Maintains an accurate HCIS development schedule and ensures business deliverables are completely satisfied, on time and within budget.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring clear communication, roles, and responsibilities are established and maintained throughout the project lifecycle and hold resources accountable, communicate on their performance, and escalate issues as necessary. Drive accountability and cooperation between development teams and business stakeholders. Manage 3rd party vendors, as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve any risks and issues that may arise within a project or across projects. Escalate to leadership as needed. Track milestones and deliverables, managing scope change effectively.
  • Provide project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders ensuring project documentation is complete and communicated. Prepare regular status reports, monthly scorecards, updates of development schedules, and provide project analysis to senior management. Schedule meetings and ensure agendas, notes, and action items are updated punctually.

Requirements:

  • Five plus (5+) years of previous business analyst and project management experience. A proven track record of leading business analysis and project management for large, cross-organizational technical projects along with maintaining overall project development and resource schedules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop cooperative working relations to achieve results.
  • Past experience in working with Human Capital technologies and business areas. Experience working with Workday HCM, and related modules, is favored and experience with high volume hiring is a plus.
  • Embraces the entrepreneurial spirit through recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to improve the organization. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing priorities. Prior experience in an entrepreneurial, start-up, or rapidly expanding organization is desired.
  • Strong analytical, information gathering, and problem-solving skills including an attention to detail, the ability to document understandable requirements, to establish priorities, and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify risks and issues proactively accompanied by the ability to recommend alternatives and solutions to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or business-related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency in Google (docs, sheets, slides, forms), Visio, Monday, and Zoom.
