Rosie Mulhern - SystemsAccountants

Recruitment Consultant

What does a typical day look like to you?
SystemsAccountants operates a 360-recruitment model, which means we all focus on both client acquisition and candidate resourcing, so every day can be a little bit different depending on the demand! Some days, I focus more on calling people in our network about new roles we’re working on and other days, I focus more on setting up meetings with our existing and prospective clients to get to know their ERP system set up and identify any areas we might be able to assist with. Throughout the day, I might also be negotiating offers, conducting screening calls, and providing market insights to candidates and clients.

Why did you decide to join SystemsAccountants?
I joined SystemsAccountants because I thought it sounded like a rewarding role with opportunities for personal and professional development in a collaborative and welcoming environment. While I initially had reservations about the stereotypes of the recruitment industry, SystemsAccountants has a team-focused and collaborative culture that I thought aligned with my values and the sort of culture I wanted to work in.

What’s your favourite thing about working at SystemsAccountants?
The people! Everyone at SystemsAccountants gets along really well, and we often spend time together outside of work. It’s a very supportive culture where we all want the best results for each other. The other best thing about working at SystemsAccountants is that it’s very rewarding to help shape people’s career trajectory. The moments within the job that stand out the most are times when I’ve helped someone secure a new job in a better company with an increased salary, and they’ve told me I’ve made their year.

What stands out to you about the culture at SystemsAccountants?
There’s a unique flat management structure and culture at SystemsAccountants that allows us all to follow our initiative in how we approach recruitment. We are encouraged and supported in identifying and pursing areas in the market that we’re interested in to specialise and become an expert in a certain market.

What do you believe are the most important qualities that a successful recruitment consultant at SystemsAccountants should possess?
The qualities I believe are most important for recruitment consultants at SystemsAccountants are interpersonal skills, resilience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in connecting people. A proactive mindset and the ability to build rapport and relationships with candidates and clients are highly valued at SystemsAccountants.

What advice would you give to a prospective team member?
My advice to prospective team members is to identify and recognize how you like to work, as SystemsAccountants will foster this and accommodate your own unique approach to recruitment!
